Employment Pass

An employment permit is necessary to allow you to live and work in Singapore, as well as travel in and out of the country without the need for an entry visa.


An employment permit is usually valid for 1-2 years, after which it can be renewed.

 


Types of Employment Permits in Singapore

 

Depending on the industry, the education qualification, the job role, the salary, there are various types of employment permit that one can hold.

1) Employment Pass

2) S-Pass

3) Work Permit

Having an Employment Pass also makes you eligible to apply for Singapore’s Permanent Residency (PR) status in the future.

 


Self­-Assessment Tool (SAT)


MOM encourages you to use the Self-Assessment Tool (SAT) to get an indication of whether a candidate meets the Employment Pass requirements. Candidates can also use the tool to assess their eligibility.

An employer or authorised third party has to apply for a candidate’s Employment Pass.

 

If you are an overseas employer that does not have a registered office in Singapore, you need to get a Singapore-registered company to act as a local sponsor and apply on your behalf.
